Last April, the Texas Senate had a long and important debate about my Monument Protection legislation, SB 1663. The bill ultimately passed the Senate creating a framework and process for historical monuments to be relocated or removed, and also included permanent protections for the Alamo Cenotaph, and created a committee to review the artwork and decor in the Senate Chamber.
The bill was passed by the Senate, but never received a vote in the Texas House.
