Martin Herdman (born 24 July ) is an English actor, boxer and former professional rugby league footballer.[3]
Sporting career
[edit]Herdman was a boxer for several years, and won the South West London ABA Heavyweight Championship in [4] He also represented England in international matches against Kenya and Hungary.[3]
Herdman also played rugby league as a second-row,[2][5] playing at representative level for Wales, and club level for Fulham RLFC. He won three caps for Wales while at Fulham from to [2]
In , Herdman went to America after being given a tryout as a running back for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League, but was cut from their roster

Martin John Herdman (born 24th July in Chertsey, Surrey) appeared on Coronation Street in April as lorry driver Ron Harris, a frequent customer of Jim's Cafe, with an eye for Audrey Roberts.
A professional heavyweight boxer and international rugby league player, he then pursued an acting career.
His other television credits include roles in The Bill, Demob, London's Burning, The Knock, EastEnders, Soldier Soldier, Silent Witness, Have Your Cake and Eat It, Bramwell, Family Affairs, Rose and Maloney, The Grid, Holby City, Waking the Dead and Casualty.
Film roles include Savage Hearts, First Knight, The Great Dome Robbery, Unconditional Love, Revolver, Stormbreaker, Loving Vincent and Sink.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Dear Brutus, The Ladykillers, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Antony and Cleopatra and A Mad World My Masters.
