Timothy Sylvester Hogan (June 11, 1864 – December 8, 1926) was a Democratic politician in the U.S. state of Ohio who served as Ohio Attorney General from 1911–1915.
Biography
[edit]Timothy S. Hogan was born on a farm in Jackson County, Ohio. Both his parents were born in County Kerry, Ireland, and immigrated to America in 1850. His father died in 1894 and his mother in 1897.[1] Hogan attended the public schools of Jackson County, and the Ohio Normal University in Ada, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1889, and taught school for fourteen years.[1]
Hogan began home study of law after a fellow teacher presented him a copy of Blackstone. He was admitted to the bar in 1894, and began a practice at Wellston, Ohio. His first case was a man charged with murder. He gained an acquittal, and, at once, a lucrative practice. He lost one murder case in his career when he unsuccessfully defended John William Tracey in Dec 1910. Ironically this was his last case before becoming Ohio Attorney General.[1]

Mr. Hogan was born September 20, 1981 in West Palm Beach, FL a son of Karen DeAngelo Hogan and the late Timothy H. Hogan. He was the owner and operator of A & T Roofing and a very talented carpenter. Timmy enjoyed fishing, playing pool, riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, and spending time with his family and friends. He would be quick to tell you his favorite pastimes were eating and taking a nap.
In addition to his father, Mr. Hogan was also preceded in death by his grandmothers, Pat Hogan, and Carolyn DeAngelo; grandfathers, George Myers, and Frank DeAngelo; and sister, Angela D. “Angie” Hogan.
Survivors include children, Leanna Hogan, MiKayla Sullivan, and Kaelin Weaver all of Camden, SC; mother, Karen A. Hogan of Hartsville, SC; brother, David Williams of IL; sister, Crystal (Sammy) Melton of Hartsville, SC; nephews, Wyatt Williams o
