Kimberly Ann (McMichael) Snyder

Kimberly Ann (McMichael) Snyder, of East Huntington Twp., passed away on Friday, July 24th, 2020 at home in the arms of her loving and devoted husband, Travis, and surrounded by her loving family, after a 19 month long courageous battle with brain cancer. Those who knew her and supported her know how hard she strived to survive. She was born at UPMC Magee Hospital, Pittsburgh on January 20, 1981. She attended Greensburg Central Catholic High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. She also has a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Applied Developmental Psychology. She later went on to obtain a master’s from Carlow University in Early Childhood Education. She recently was accepted in the Doctoral program at the University of Pittsburgh for STEM education but was unable to complete her studies due to her illness. She was the recipient of a College Television Emmy Award for the Creative Arts in Los Angeles, California, and received the Mister Rogers Memorial Scholarship, and then was privileged to meet Mrs. Joanne Rogers, whom she adored. Kimberly Witt Snyder, 49, passed away on Friday, January 21st, 2022, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.  Born in Bedford, VA, on March 11th, 1972, she was the daughter of Roy and Patricia Witt.

She is survived by her husband Dale Snyder, and mother, Patricia Witt; three children Devin Grubbs, Ryan Grubbs and Jasmine Monroe and husband Montana; sister Bonnie Campbell, brother David Witt and wife Tiffany; brother-in-law Raymond Snyder and wife Grace; grandchild, Justin Monroe; nephews and niece, Amber, Tabatha, Gracie, Mason, Nova, and Claire.  Kim was preceded in death by her father Roy and her late first husband Kevin Grubbs.

A memorial service officiated by the Pastor Jonathan Falwell will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 30th, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24502.  The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
